Overview

A premier division of the Red Army, the 401st Guards Motor-Rifle Division currently has approximately 24,000 personnel in active service. The division's principal vehicles are the T-119 main battle tank, the BTR-12 and KVTR armoured personnel carriers; it also makes limited use of the BMP-130 infantry fighting vehicle, as well as the IS-300 self-propelled artillery system and the BM-40 Moskva MLRS.
