After what Soviet soldiers have taken to calling the “Hundred Hour Offensive”, Red Army representatives today announced that over 105,000 Soviet reinforcements have taken position in Braken City, ending any hopes by the German High Command for a swift capture of the city.
Anti-aircraft fire has lit up the skies for the past week as thousands of Red Army and Red Navy transports have descended upon Braken, sometimes even into the midst of heavy fighting. Perhaps the most dramatic moment of the battle thus far occurred in the early morning of the 16th when German tanks appeared on the runways of Braken International Starport even as Soviet transports were landing.
Ferocious fighting centered on the airfield occurred over the next 24 hours as Soviet reinforcements took up positions in a hastily constructed defensive perimeter, sometimes only minutes after exiting transports that had been fired upon.
Braken has been transformed into a city of nightmares as it now seems to be the focal point of the entire war. Massive smoke clouds from the orbital bombardment in the southern provinces have finally reached Braken, covering the city in a nearly 24 hour darkness. How anyone can survive, let alone fight in this environment is unfathomable.

Right, situation is as follows, most of Braken City has been cleared of civilians. The Volksheer have a defensive line down Stoph Avenue a mile from the LZ. By the time you reach the planet’s surface, our comrades in the fleet will have broken through the German defense grid and at 19:30 hours will pound the entire front from Stoph onwards. It’s your job to hold the line until then.
The Wehrmacht have been pushing the Volksheer to Braken for the past 6 months, and they got nowhere left to retreat to. If we lose Braken we’ll have no solid airfield to deploy our heavy assets for 500km. We need to hit them with everything we’ve got and hit em hard. We’ve got the entire 5th Air Army behind us comrades, so we will rule the skies.
Maksim, you’ve got from Unionstraße to Birkenstaße, Akady, from Gubener to Karl-Marx Allee. Lietenant Nikodim, I want you to break off a squad and a machinegun team and proceed west from Stoph to a Stasi station on the corner of Weidenweg-Ebertystraße. Got a distress call that two downed Volksluft pilots are hiding out there. Gather survivors and then radio in, we’ll have gunships in the area to ferry them out. Then you haul yourselves back to Stoph and wait for the bombing.
The fighting here’s been left to the Black Coats and the Volksheer for too long, now that the Red Army’s arrived I expect the city won within the week. Am I right comrades?
